A few weeks ago the new Google iPhone was released. An incredibly cool toy in my opinion. It made me think though: what do I want out of my digital toys? Especially since I also have 2 notebooks and a home computer that I work with. Oh, and an iPod of course. Here’s what I’d like:
- I want to use GMail, Google Reader, Google Calendar, Google Bookmarks, and iGoogle
- I want to have my stuff (mail, news, calendar) listed on my iGoogle page which is the start page of all my devices
- All my music is stored on a usb harddisk that I can hook up to any computer. Currently it is hooked up to my linux box. I want an easy way of synchronizing my iPod and phone (hopefully one day an iPhone, gifts are welcome!) so that I have my music everywhere. Big disk in phone required.
- I want a device (iPhone, most likely) that synchronizes with GMail, Google Reader and so on
- my phone should always be online. I’d like to stay connected! GPRS, UMTS, Wifi, whatever!
- I don’t want to worry whether the agenda items on my phone are up to date. Synchronizing should be done automatically, any time, any place any where
now that shouldn’t be too hard should it? Basically this boils down to: access to my ‘stuff’ any time any place anywhere…
