Yesterday I started working again. I’m taking it easy to start with by only doing 4 – 5 hours per day. Yesterday I had to drive to Meppel to do a presentation about project start architecture (PSA). This presentation was more or less a summary of the larger presentation that I gave at the open university a while ago. Either way, the presentation was well received and after talking to several co-workers there (which is always a good thing, I don’t see these guys often enough) I drove back home.
The weather was so good yesterday that I decided to bike for a bit in the woods. Stijn was doing ok and Koen was still at the Bamboela so off I went in the sun. It was a bit chilly but the sun made it a good drive anyway. I found a new route in the woods near Diepenveen and really had a blast. When I got back I had to rush to pick up Koen, though.
After I picked up Koen we had dinner and I went to play bridge with Tom. Earlier this week I played with Serena (Tuesday) and I noticed back then that the stress from the past few weeks was gone. Yesterday I felt the same and had the best evening (in terms of bridge, that is) in a while. We played very well and despite having missed a slam or to (and being in the wrong slam at some point) we scored +26 imp. Good result. Especially if you consider that one game cost us approx 24 imp (by bidding 6 in clubs instead of no trump).
When I came back Stijn was pretty hungry. And after that he had cramps
Unfortunately that kept him (and us) up for a while. I did go into work today, but again only for a little while to celebrate with my co-workers and clean out my mailbox. Stijn did have another check-up today and he has gained more than enough weight over the last few days (about 100gr per day). That cheered us up
Ton and I took back a huge pumpkin’ today. It weighed about 13kg. I just made some pumpkin soup and tomorrow I’ll make pumpkin cake. Earlier this week I already posted several pictures of pumpkins in our photo gallery. Today, especially for Eric, I made some more of the bigger pumpkin:
These two pictures have different exposure times. Personally I like the right one. Anyway, if anyone wants a copy of the picture, just let us know!
