Christmas, bridge, and the flu

We’ve had a nice and slow Christmas this year, just as we planned. Well, sort of. On the 25th we had a family dinner at Inge’s with Inge, Caro, Eva, Koen, and myself. We also exchanged presents then.. all in all a lovely evening. However, the 26th it turned out that Eva had fallen ill. At first we thought that she may have had something bad to eat but it turned out to be a mild case of the flu. In the evening Koen and I went to Caro for another dinner with Rob & Vincent… the latter turned out to be struck by the flu as well! Must be a Christmas epidemic. Unfortunately I got it also on Thursday :( Either way, despite people being sick it was a nice Christmas.

By the way, on Wednesday I played a small Bridge tournament with Tom in “den Nul”. We played fairly well, but also made some big mistakes which should have cost a lot. Despite that we had a nice 4th place with a 60% score. Not bad :-) Most importantly it was nice to play again, lovely evening and a well organized tournament!

Today Eva is going to The Hague with her mum… leaving me with Koen to enjoy ourselves. I hoped to be able to go out somewhere but looks like we’re up for a lot of rain. Well, we’ll see…
