Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!
With Christmas approaching we decided to head to Tilburg for the weekend to visit my family. We left Saturday morning after a rough week at work, so before visiting anyone some more shopping was in order. We managed to get most things we needed in the city center which closely resembled a war zone.
First we visited my grandmother who recently had an accident (a car hit her while she was crossing the street). She was doing pretty o.k. even though she can’t walk anymore
This makes everything difficult, even such simple things as going to the WC. Either way, it was good to see her again. Next stop was my mother’s for a pre-Christmas dinner and presents. Koen got an awesome present: a big rug with streets and houses painted on it so he can race his cars over this city-like floor plan. Neat!
After dinner we went to my dad’s house. Since I hadn’t seen uncle Jos in ages I went there by bike. Things haven’t been going well for him lately and now that he’s ill it seemed to me that he’s giving up. A painful thing to see, especially since he is so loved in our family. I sure do hope things will look up for him in 2007, one way or the other.
Sunday we made two more stops: one at Hans & Lucie, the other at Jan & Ellie & Marloes. Koen was spoiled rotten again which lots of nice presents. Especially the Duplo firetruck is a big hit. The trip back went fine (Koen slept most of the way) and we had a nice quiet Christmas eve. Today and tomorrow we’ll have more festivities… I’ll write about those later ![]()
