In a previous post, on august 28th, Bas wrote about the new bed we bought for Koen. Yesterday it was -finally- delivered! I wanted to move the delivery, because I had to go to the dentist for a rootcanal treatment, but I was kindly informed that the delivery would then be on the 30th of october… Uhm… So I then decided to ask my mother to come babysit at our house, so that she could ‘accept the goods’ if they would be early.
The treatment at the dentist turned out to be a breeze (well, still no favorite pass-time…) and I was home long before the truck pulled up with Koens bed. I decided to grab the bull by the horns and start assembling the bed right away. In my zeal, I did not check the boxes too well and started without a manual, because I thought there was none… Turns out I do have some technical insight, since it took only a little ondoing and re-assembling to actually get the bed the way it was supposed to be according to the instructions (which, of course, I found tucked away at the bottom of the box when I was cleaning up…).
Koen was so enthousiastic about his new bed, he dubbed it his ‘truck-bed’ and started loading his bears and books into it, before taking of on a ride. When Bas took him to bed at night, he fell asleep instantly and slept for almost 13 hours straight..
In his cot, Koen looked soooo big, but now, in his ‘big boy bed’, he looked so tiny again… But since he was filling up his cot from top to bottom, it was high time for this bed! And the next step, of course, is finishing his new room so that there will actually be enough room for his new bed…
