Getting used to “real work”

Time flies when you’re having fun! I’ve been here at ISC for a month now and it feels like I started yesterday. Well, sort of. I’m definitely having fun here and I’m getting used to doing “real work”. That is, I’m in two very intersting projects. One is about a photoserver and the other has to do with processing evidence from crimescenes. Pretty interesting stuff in all. I’m also in a competence center. The goal there is to fine-tune the Rational Unified Process (RUP), an interactive software development method, for our organization. That gives me some time to talk to people about software development issues, to fiddle with tools that we may use, to read books on the material etcetera. Right up my alley!

Driving back and forth is still a drag, though. The weather is getting bad (fall) which means that we’re having a lot of traffic jams. Not much fun, but you get used to it eventually. It doesn’t help that I have a cold though. Oh well, eat more fruit, try to excersize more and move on!

Oh! I’d almost forget: I’ve picked up a new hobby… again :-) I’ve been watching baseball a lot the last few weeks. Playoffs are so exciting and worldseries coming up soon! Time to make a baseball appointment with my buddy EDS to catch a game soon…!
