Today we had another early start on reconstructing our attic. We were pretty ambitious as we planned to put up some of the sheet rock. We didn’t make it that far, though. Instead we put up more insulation and dragged all of the building materials up to the 2nd floor so that the downstairs was empty again. The plan is to continue next week. We can then put up the sheet rock on one end, move all of our stuff and start doing some work on the other end! We’ll post some pictures later this week.

… my true love said to me … Nah, just kidding We did a lot of hard work today. This morning Eva started insulating the roof of our attic while I started with the wood works. Things went relatively well. More work tomorrow! But, we’ll also have to stop early because we are going to visit Ton, Debbie and Olivier (their newborn baby!). The idea is to start putting up sheetrock on one side already. Hopefully we can finish that so we can start on the other end of the attic next weekend. We’ll see.

It’s been an interesting week with lots of bridge On Monday we played a teams competition. Unfortunately Serena was ill so I played with Michiel. It went pretty well, considering that we’ve never played together before. The biggest problem was difference in style I guess. On Tuesday I played the regular competition (matchpoints) with Peter Rado. Also the first time I played with him Again, things weng pretty smoothly. We had one bidding mistake (lack of agreements) and I managed to mess up one deal completely in defense. Shit happens Oh, Jacco also had a very nice psyche against us…

Apart from bridge we’ve managed to do a lot of other things as well. Monday I went to the dentist (oops!), Wednesday was a slow day at home considering Koen was running a fever. Today we received a big stack of building materials so we can start working on our attic again this weeken. Hans and Sabrine were supposed to come over to help but … they had other issues to tend to.

So: the plan for the weekend is relatively simple: clean up attic a bit tonight, bring Koen to Inge tomorrow morning, quickly get some groceries (man ’s got to eat!) and then start working on the attic. Hopefully we can drop Koen off somewhere on Sunday too so we can get some more work done. We’ll see.
