As some of you may know, I’ve been experimenting with the GMail interface for a while now. I think i’ve used it for about 2 years now and … well … I’ve given up on it. Time to go back to good old mutt. GMail just doesn’t cut it for me. I really miss my good old mutt for sending mails. Typing mail in vi is so much easier than in a stupid webform!

After fiddling a bit with fetchmail/mailfilter i’ve set things up to copy my GMail archive back to my van-gils.org server. It’s gonna take a while to grab all mail from the last two years. Tomorrow I’ll setup spamsassin/bogofilter again to battle the SPAM-monster.

Time flies when you’re having fun. At least, that’s what people say. I’ve sure been busy at work getting into new projects and new fields. Hopefully a lot of field trips to police stations coming up. Nothing is sure yet but prospects are good. All is related to getting my first project. Well, I’ll still have a supervisor but if all goes well I can run most of the show :-) !!

Today I had another nice day with Koen. This morning we went out to wash the car (playing with water is always fun as far as Koen is concerned) and do a lot of shopping. This afternoon I went to the mall to buy the latest Neil Young album (protest album against Bush) and a nice (official!) WhiteSox baseball cap!

Yesterday Eric (a.k.a. EDS) came over. Now that we no longer work together we don’t get to spend a lot of time together, which is a real shame. Luckily we have a cable connection that includes NASN which broadcasts a lot of American Sports such as baseball. Anyway, the idea was thet EDS ‘d come over and explain some of the fine points of the game…

Eric arrived around 14.00 .. just in time to watch the start of the game (St. Louis vs Houston). Awesome game … very exciting! Astros won in the 9th inning :-) After the game it was dinner time and after that we watched a football game. Now that’s a game I didn’t understand… still don’t get most of it but at least Eric’s explanations helped a bit. Gues I’m more of a baseball fan :-) When Eva got home from the theater we went out for a couple of beers to end a wonderful evening. We should do this more often!
